Trailer - "The Projectionist"

Synopsis

Maria is a young Palestinian woman, who is to be married by her father against her will. She tries to resist, but the will of the father can not be changed: The fiance is no other than the son of the local govenor -- of course, the family will profit a lot from this precious connection. For Maria it is hard to accept the decision of her father. Devastated by the imagination of her own dull future, Maria discorevs a place that can heal her sorrows: the cinema.

While pretending to attend german language courses, Maria sneaks into the cinema everyday to forget about her problems. She is fascinated by any movie she sees and grows a passion for film. By the time she gets to know the old projectionist and his son. They run the cinema as a family business. They can sense that Maria's mind is full of grief and decide to offer her a helping hand. Allam teachers her all about projecting movies while Yousef shares his passion of making films with her.

As the film develops, the two are becoming a warm shelter from the sadness of her everyday life and she falls in love with Yousef. When her father and Maria's german teacher meet randomly on the street one day, Ayman finds out about Maria's secret trips to the cinema...
