Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Draco/Hermione
Story:Hermione spots Draco heading into Knockturn Ally and decides to follow him. She sees him go in Borgin and Burkes and watches him look an object rather intensely. On the Hogwarts Express she overhears Draco telling Pansy that he doesnt think he will be returning to Hogwarts the following year which makes Hermione more curious.
Hermione confides in Harry and Harry tells her that Draco was looking at a vanishing cabinet.
Hermione knows something is really wrong and is worried about Draco. Draco notices Hermione watching him and smiling at him and cant understand why.
Hermione decides to approach Draco and offer him help but he is angry at her for even thinking he would accept help from her and refuses. Hurt by this, Hermione turns away from Draco when she catches him looking at her.
When she sees him looking again she decides to try again and smiles at him but this gets him angry again and he storms off, but Hermione follows calling after him.
Draco takes Hermione to the astronomy tower and reveals that he is a death eater. Hermione is shocked and upset and Draco is shocked that he revealed that to her and hurries away.
The following day Hermione doesnt know what to do when she sees Draco and walks away.
They get into an argument outside. Draco wants to know if Hermione is serious about helping and Hermione wants to know if he is serious about being friends but they find it hard to communicate.
Hermione wonders if there was something more she could do and when she sees Draco on the platform its clear he is still angry as he blanks her and walks away.
He runs again when he sees her in the great hall but this time Hermione follows him and tells him shes not going anywhere as she really cares for him now and Draco completely breaks down in front of her.
When Hermione gets to the common room Harry tells her that he has seen Draco disappearing off the Marauders Map.
Later that night Hermione is looking out her window and a dark mark forms in the sky. At the same time Draco gets up and starts heading towards the room of requirement. Hermione curious to see how he is at the appearance of the dark mark spots him and follows him. She sees the vanishing cabinet start to open and then Draco calls out I have to do this. Hermione turns around and sees Draco aiming his wand at her and he says I have to kill you.
Bellatrix appears looking very pleased and Hermione is terrified, finally understanding why Draco was trying to push her away.
In a moment of pure silence Hermione and Draco stare at each other, both in tears, both wishing they were somewhere else.
Suddenly Bellatrix lashes out and kills Hermione, shocking Draco. The death eaters flee from Hogwarts with their victory but Draco stays behind, distraught and alone, he waits for somebody to find him...and its not long before they do.
