In preparation for the second of the LA Phil LIVE simulcasts, Gustavo and the LA Phil rehearse one of Tchaikovsky's Shakespeare-inspired single movement orchestral fantasies. Don't miss your chance to see the performance in a movie theater near you -- check http://www.laphil.com/laphillive/programs.cfm#program2 for program and ticket information!

  • He had too much brilliancy in him so he let his hair grow to let some out

  • Love the moment from 0:57.

  • Gustavo Dudamel has memorized the entire score, not once looking at the score, and making all references from memory. I doubt that Tchaikovsky had memorized his own composition. Dudamel probably knows it better than the composer.

  • He was in solfege for those 16ths! C'mon!

  • MIND BLOWN!!!!!!!!

  • @ramiropema

El ensayo corresponde a la obertura-fantasía Romeo y Julieta de P.I. Tchaikovsky, quien también compuso la obertura Hamlet, inspirándose en la tragedia de Hamlet

  • watched the LA Phil LIVE today! amazing, moving, beautifull!

  • @ramiropema it's the romeo and juliet overture by tchaikovsky :)
