They cut him off partway. He's supposed to say "It is written: Only Link can defeat Ganon. Although it is written in a language that's clearly made up, which oddly enough only I can read, and no mentioning of any form of important prophecy was mentioned... but it is written never the less!"
Also Link got into a debate with the sword thing originally but it wasn't in the script. He wanted to bring a few bombs for dodongos just in case they were around

You know, just like people here try to imitate Anime, people there try to imitate cartoons. So they were probably trying to appeal to people and epically failed.
