  • Beckell is amazingly clueless.

His comments on the automobile is basically, it doesn't matter if US auto companies mis manage their industry. As long as we have US auto industry is the final metric for keeping a companies afloat.

Beckell, we should let companies fail. Let responsible companies take over the market share of irresponisible car makers.

It's Beckell's view that are the problem.

  • Indeed!

  • The phrase "stimulus" in reference to the current budget necessarily requires quotation marks or else we could sue the government for false advertising.

  • Smitty025 is 100% correct.

    LOL

If Obama did like Beckell said and took Pelosi out on the porch and talked to her like that Obama would spend the next 4 years without a drop of support from congress.

That's the kind of attitude Jimmy Carter tried with a Democrat congress and they gave him a sound spanking.

The President is not the boss of the House of Representatives.

  • End The Fed.

  • I got really pissed when Mr. Beckell said that Obama is Pelosi's boss. Apparently he doesn't understand there there are three seperate branches of government, and the President is not the boss of anybody in the Congress.

  • Bob Beckell has a cold, apparently.

  • The guy in favor had nothing to support his opinion.

  • Edwards is right to argue that the faith placed in government intervention is mostly because of hysteria and an "at least we're trying" attitude. If Obama does nothing the depression will be his fault, even though the president and the economy should be and mostly are separate. If it rebounds after a few years largely due to reasons having nothing to do with him he'll be the savior that's pulled us from the darkness. Nobody in DC seems to realize that a big recession at this point is inevitable.

  • I agree that Beckell is out to lunch. But he is like so many in DC who are without a clue but are going to forge ahead, damn the torpedoes of reality. Unfortunately, Obama was dead on when he opined that the Republicans had lost credibility during the last administration. Why did they wait for a Dem President to rediscover fiscal responsibility? Now the Dems walk all over Republicans and taxpayers lose. We need Libertarians in office.
