Mike Johnson is Country Music's No.1 Black Yodeler, and his Yodel Song Archives, containing 114 yodeling songs written & composed by him, is in the Recorded Sound Reference Center's permanent music collection at the Library of Congress.

He is also a member of the National Traditional Country Music Association and was inducted into America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame in September 2002.
