"Breathe On me, Breath Of God" is one of the classic hymns we use at Shallowater UMC to worship God.
Quality audio postings of classic hymns in simple, congregational arrangements suitable for learning are notoriously difficult to find in any medium - much less on the internet. The versions of these hymns posted here are - overall - the best selections we can find. If You have a suggestion as to a better version available online, leave us a comment with the URL address and we will consider changing the video. This version of Breathe On me, Breath Of God is by the New Apostolic Church Youth Choir from Capetown, South Africa from a recorded concert performed in 2006.
We have this video posted as a way of teaching those who come to our church the words to the song. As such a teaching instrument, it is our understanding that this music & video is legal under the Copyright Disclaimer in Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976 where allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Lyrics:
Breathe On me, Breath Of God
Verse 1
Breathe on me, Breath of God - Fill me with Life anew
That i may Love what Thou dost Love, and do what Thou wouldst do
Verse 2
Breathe on me, Breath of God, until my heart is pure
Until, with Thee, i will one will to do & to endure
Verse 3
Breathe on me, Breath of God, 'till i am wholly Thine
'Til all this earthly part of me glows with Thy fire divine
Verse 4
Breathe on me, Breath of God, so shall i never die
But Live with Thee the perfect Life of Thine eternity
