A vidlet I made in a few hours. After the 100th episode...I just had to. I know this song has been used so, so many times, but it was just PERFECT for what I wanted. Forgive me for any mistakes! Again, this was REALLY quickly edited...not at all up to my usual standards.
Although it starts with the "fate" dialogue, the entire theme of this vid is gambling. Booth was a gambler when he first met Brennan, and he gave it up for her (notice after the kiss he went home instead of re-entering the pool hall). Then at the end of the episode Sweets tells Booth that he has to take a gamble -- he has to break the stalemate. So he finally gambles again, after all these years...only to lost for the first time in his life. This episode broke my heart, but in a lovely, fantastic way. Brennan isn't ready. She isn't ready to make herself vulnerable. She says that it is SHE who will hurt Booth, but it's clear that she fears that he will one day abandon her. She doesn't have his kind of open heart because she fears what will happen to her if she lets him in.
Really, a terrific episode. One of the best of Bones, and, dare I say, of recent television. And if Emily Deschanel doesn't get an Emmy nod for those last two minutes (and I'm sure she won't given the prejudice against shows like Bones) it'll be a travesty.
There are a few clips from episodes other than the 100th, but otherwise it's purely the 100th episode.

Brennan: Absolutely not.
Brennan: I still don't.
Booth: And I still do.
Brennan: Booth had a gambling problem before he met me.
Brennan: We're not in love with each other!
Sweets: One of you has to have the courage to break thiss stalemate!... It's gotta be you, because you're the gambler.
Booth: I'm the gambler. I believe in giving this a chance.
Brennan: No, the FBI won't let us work together if we--
Booth: Don't do that!
Brennan: I went home and went to be.
Booth: So did I.
Brennan: You thought you were protecting me, but you're the one who needs protecting.
Booth: Protecting? From what?
Brennan: From me! I don't have your kind of open heart.
Booth: You know when you talk to older couples who have been in love for fifty years, all right? It's always the guy who says, "I knew."
Booth: I knew.
Booth: Right from the beginning.
Brennan: I can't change! I don't know how. I don't know how!
Booth: But I've gotta move on.
Brennan: I know.
