Russell Gray demonstrates how to create The Edge's classic delay sound using a TC Electronic Nova System. He takes us through two of U2's major hit songs: 'Where The Streets Have No Name' and 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For'.

  • I like what i juz heard, I am saving money to get G system, is it possible an upgrade or new version will release soon?

  • @dincheungmusic We've just released a modified G system - maybe take a look at that?

  • @tcelectronic yes i did, will there be anything totally new but similiar to G system coming soon?

  • @dincheungmusic Not that I've heard of - but they don't tell me everything.. :) But I would think no, since we just released the modified version..

  • Is this running through the effects loop of an amp?

  • @JayDeeSG I think it's in the loop.

  • To all writers here who nag about he´s playing the wrong notes. Have you guys ever heard something about copyrights? Great Video, great player !

  • @godinvelocity - Playing better than this with only 1 year of practise is very impressive! - You upload videos?

And I'm sure Line6 is glad you like their products.

  • @gtr71 parallel. If you want them in chain you need a second delay unit. Try someting smaller like the Nova Delay or a Boss DD-7 and then run it through the Nova System. Some of these presets are incorrect as the Edge uses delays in series and parallel. Most stuff like Streets is in parallel but stuff like Zooropa needs to be in series.

  • @spentonmediocrity I agree totally but this is based on the TC2290 the edge uses. Sadly discontinued..

  • Very very useful, thank you very much!

  • "Two delays"? If so NOT often..He rarely uses chorus and his compression comes from his amp's natural compressed tone (cathode biased, tube rectified, alnico speaker AC30).Pedal compression sounds plastic to my ears.

The tones here are nice to be sure, but not really like the Edge.Crank an AC30 with a delay and a few other toys and THEN you have his sound.

  • do you guys think this system will do ok going direct to Di box then straight into PA system? its for worship music at church.

  • When using the dual-delay setting, are those two delays routed in series or parallel?

  • @tcelectronic thanks, keep me update pls!!!
