@bladelinger I'd like to see one for Graham Norton, that would be funny.

What is the matter with you people?
It's a punch line pause for fucks sake
-
Can someone do the same thing for Graham Norton's "Now Ehm!"
Or maybe for Dara's sharp breathing after a punch line
-
Nice one for doing this! Stewart Lee mentioned Dara doing this all the time in his book, I can't listen to him doing a joke anymore, I'm waiting for him to go 'Ahhh'. Lot's of comics do it, but Dara is the King. Check out this clip of Stew for more Ahhhh high jinks: /watch?v=2j9yBOXyPVc

@evansopenIt's genuinely just a really Irish thing to do, the way he says it - everyone here says it all the time, not as a time buyer or a cue but as a sort of dialect tick. It's just one of those things, I suppose.

Ehhhh

both him an graham norton are dead to me since i first noticed this annoying trait :/

KUNTALA FALA SHA!
...I can't believe nobody's done that yet

I'd say a good 2 to 3% of Dara's life is spent saying "eh".

look, we all know mock is crap.
He doesn't say it after EVERY sentence. He only says it at the end of a sentence where he wants or expects people to laugh. It's intentional. To me, it is a cheap trick, it's no better sitcom laugh tracks, or when people laugh immediately after telling a joke, in the hope that people will laugh along with them. Granted, he is funny, but pull away the leg of the chair of his act that is the "Ehh", and what would be left is less laughter at his jokes.

@evansopen "every sentence" is a huge exaggeration but he does do it noticably often, personally i think it's just a tick he has because he does it half way through sentences as well as at the end of jokes (after watching about 5 hours of QI i've come to know the patterns lol) but who knows eh?

its a staple time buyer for many comics, Jimmy Tarbuck, Jo Brand etc do the 'ehhh' or the 'and ehhh' or Joan Rivers 'but you know..' or Al Murray 'but the point is this..'

@STEPASAUR Billy Connolly and Eddie Izzard do it a hell of alot too XD but Dara seems to be the master of it (it's all in the name of fun, he's onbe of my favourite currently going comedians)
