A delightful dance number from the 80s thriller "Poovizhi Vaasalile". This song is not as famous as the other songs in the movie (Oru Kiliyin, Chinna Chinna Roja poove). But this song is a giant of its own.. A real toughie. (See intro video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai08Q_quMhA).

There are NO software involved in what I have done here. Its all completely manually played and recorded individually. Originally this song was sequenced by my college mate Raj. I re-sequenced it in my PSR 730. Though it has 16 track sequencer, I found myself short of several tracks. So I had to reuse the idle time of other tracks to fulfill the remaining shortage.

I have already pre-sequenced the whole song what you hear in this video and stored it as a midi file in a floppy. So I am just playing an "overlap" track in most places in this video (except the melody at some places)

The song is stereo mixed (with the basic panning that comes with the Keyboard). So headphones are recommended.

  • @anniyan1976

Hi Anniyan: I use a Yamaha PSR 730. This board has 16 tracks for Sequencing that can be stored in a floppy disk. I choose the multi recording for each track and select the part as R1 always and choose the mode with lot of inbuilt DSP effects. After that I record each track, one by one.. Sometimes I need to use empty parts of one channel for another instrument due to heavy layering generally found in Raaja's songs. hope that helps.

  • beauty stuff...soulful performance Vicky...wish the original song had this sound quality...

and is there Chitra in this one? I don't think so...It sounds like SP Shailaja with a multiple voice overlap...

  • @krishnbimanagar

Thanks Krish. Yes. Chithra is used in the chorus section of the song. I can feel it right through the song (and especially in the 2nd interlude). Besides I remember seeing this on the Sleeve notes at a friend's place who has all Raaja originala. Also all available source of Raaja's discography in the net including Rakkamma, Thiraipaadal as well as Old Raajangam's RIC which is hosted in: gsbabu.com confirm the same.

  • Please can you tag your videos with good key terms, it will reach more people...

  • @yvrhyr

Thanks for the suggestion. If you could also suggest me the key words, I will add them to the tags.. !

    With Love

    Vicky

  • great stuff mate. beautifully rendered. it's a bit of a surprise that this gem of song has been unnoticed by many , perhaps the other songs in this movie and the bgm completely overshadowed it all. keep giving us more like these.

  • nice BGM Compose of Music ... i like it
