Each year, hundreds of incredibly qualified students choose to attend UNC. For many, this would not be a reality without scholarships provided by alumni and friends of Carolina.
Jakelin Bonilla is an International Studies major with a double minor in Geography and Entrepreneurship as well as a recipient of the Pogue Scholarship. She is a Leader of LINC, (Linking Immigrants to New Communities) and teaches a course on Latino and Migrant Issues. Katie Beam is a recipient of the Carolina Scholarship and a double major in Math and Economics with a Minor in French from Belews Creek, North Carolina. Among her many honors, she has made the Dean's List each of her semesters at UNC, and will be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Benjamin Rosado is a double major in Psychology and International Studies from Wilmington, North Carolina. He intends to work towards a career in social work after he graduates. He currently participates in Eagles Nest, a program that mentors Latino children and teaches them English. He also volunteers for LINC where he teaches English and provides cultural information to adult Latino immigrants.
Gifts from Carolina alumni, students and friends enable UNC to provide an unparalleled experience for thousands of Tar Heels - and future college students - each and every year. Your support ensures that Carolina fulfills its mission of teaching, research and public service.
