I just love Julia! I used to watch her as a young child with my mother all the time. My mother was a great cook thanks to Julia. Great food and great memories! Thanks for sharing Julia with us. (:

@FotoKadr I used a Riesling, and I really enjoyed how it turned out. Although the next time I make it I will probably use less cognac than I did before.

So many thanks for posting this. A lovely practical demo, loads of useful tips there. OK, the floor manager should have kept an eye on the gratiné to stop it catching - but nonetheless, so happy to see this beautiful expert in full flight and with the flamboyance and experienced imprecision that typifies the French cuisine.
