I love you Vanity!! I don't ever remember anyone hating her. For one thing, she only referred to her father as being "black as a gorilla"(referring to his shade of skin) I saw her make that statement on a talk show. And so what, some black men are shadow black, blue black, gorilla black, and so on, and I love it! That dark skin is hypnotic! (Wesley Snipes..yummm!!) But Vanity is black whether half black or whatever. I also know plenty of black people who are not mixed that look like that.

I am three generations black(all), my cousin is Lena Horne, and my whole family ranges in color from chocolate to light-white, and passing. Brown eyes, to blue. She said that she is "Black" many times. They have a picture of her father and he is African and her Mother is Canadian/German. She never tried to hide who she is.

Maybe Vanity made that statement about black men and maybe she didnt But a true fact is that she herself is black. LOOK at her and get over the light skin. She is black, Halle Berry is black and so is Mariah C. and Beyonce.What kind of ppl are obessed with if someone is biracial, usually black mixed with another race, and if that is someones real hair or not? looking back at this video now...I never really appreciated her and this song. It's easy to peg her as a lightweight due to how she looks, and the content in this song...but it's actually musically a pretty good hook,and very witty the way she sings in that breathy Marilyn Monroe type voice. And she's got the great moves and eyes to go with it. I think she's more intelligent than people assumed.
