My 1988 Gameshow Appearance

Mary Lou Retton flirts with me, Debbie Thomas gets a touchy one, I state the obvious to the host, Scott Hamilton is a very nice guy, Bruce Jenner has lots of hair, and I won $1,900 for my trip around the world.

The girls won the other 4 times that day. I made the cut from about 150 people, what they are looking for is verbal diarrhea - and I gave it to them. The producers really do not want the contestant to draw at the end but I felt it was the only way to be in charge of my destiny. They don't want you testing the markers before you draw, and I did get 3 of the easiest words in the final round.

Just found the tape at Mom and Dad's house. They recorded it on VHS back in September of 1988 when it aired. Thanks to Mike Jones for digitizing it for me.

I suspect this is from either the week of the 19th or the 26th of September, as those are the two weeks the SUmmer Olympics aired, on NBC IIRC. This show taped at CBS TV City despite the network version airing on NBC.
