Lenovo IdeaPad U350 first look

Last month Lenovo announced a new affordable alternative to the Lenovo T400, the IdeaPad U350. There is now a brief review on Engadget including a gallery of photos.

Early indications report that the laptop has an outer-shell which has been manufactured with great craftsmanship, not using the glossy cheap plastic materials usually associated with most low end thin-and-light budget laptops.

One major consideration when designing this laptop was to be a contender in the ever growing CULV (Consumer Ultra-Low Voltage) market, there is not a huge amount of information on the hardware at present however it is understood that the U350 uses an Intel chipset which are known for having better power consumption, the laptop also has a HDMI output. The U350 is also under an inch thick and has a 13.3 display, a wide range of hardware specifications are available and the starting price is understood to be around $650.

i dont like any lap top without TRACKING POINT in the middle of key board !

If this laptop has a tracking point ( mouse pointer ) in the middle of keyboard this could have be awsome

From what I can see the Lenovo/IBM U350 seems to be that it could be somewhat thinner than the highly competative Apple MacBook Air
