Wow, u don't see much drummers incorporating hand drum technique into their set besides Tom Teasley, Benny is the only I've seen to completely murder a solo by doing so.
-
Complete 4-way independence is to often shown in solo's by just hitting as many different things in a seemingly patternless fashion. Benny Gred does some of this, sometimes he plays the right snare-tom when it would have been far more groovy to just use his regular snare for instance, but he has some seriously groovy stuff in here which also shows of some amazing technical skill.
My favourite part is around 6:20 when he just starts a relatively simple, but extremely groovy rhytm!

i thought the drum set was to be played with sticks or brushes, then benny came in and blew my fucking brains out...
-
@CryHavocband we can't compare benny to a guy with like 20 pedals, but langs foot work is still amazing!
-
@SandyOgilvie10 its not as impressive as some foot work thomas lang as done for sure but its cool
-
Jesus look the at the foot work!
-
@EvolRogg He plays in several bands.

@ernestlmorellsr Trust me, in the drum community, he gets his props. Drummers know about Benny Greb. He's in high demand in Europe as well, and he plays with several bands. It's the non-musicians that don't know about him.

@mentalrudimental At a Meinl DRUM festival, I think they do care if each of your limbs can play in different time sigs. Even non-musicians can appreciate this man's talent because he plays with such musicality.
perhaps the most musical and creative drum solo i've ever seen - and the technicality was pretty damn amazing, too. benny greb is my all time favorite drummer, and i would give this solo a solid 10/10.
