Bp works just fine.. Make your nozzle as thick as your tube is wide, and for an endburner make your nozzle hole 1/4 the diameter of the tube. This is on the safe side but it will get you something that will give up the tang.

BP....not good ! In the form of powder-bad idea. In the form of flakes-even worse ! Compressing it-WTF !?
OK...use rocket candy instead. It is like a paste or play doah. That makes it burn at more or less steady rate, unlike BP which egnites violently or rather explodes. Thats due to a fact that flames, gases and radiating heat in deflagrating BP egnite deeper particles and making it explode. Or in your case: expelling your nozzel.
Try KNO3 / sugar / corn syrup (binder) mix

With a hydraulic press capable of exerting 10 tons of force, obviously.

lol... on my rockets the nozzle always blow out too... 5*
-
how did you compress it by 10 tons?
-
Anyway black powder is not the ideal as a rocket fuel because of its tendency to explode.
Try potassium nitrate/sugar instead.

win some, lose some, that's why you test!
It blew right away, that sucks. How was it built? What was the motor like? What fuel shape?

The fuel is black powder. The fuel shape is a cylinder compressed under 10 ton pressing.
