  • No wonder you guys cant win. You dont even squat all the way. Maybe you guys were just trying to make a cool vid half squatiting or that really is ur teams squat. Over in lincoln they go all the way down! Hell even D3 players go to the floor.

  • Technique is consistent throughout the team. Colorado strength coaches must know how to teach technique. They just don't know the correct technique.

  • @rankinnwc I think they just dont want them to mess up their knees or back doing a crazy low squat like that. But still i agree i do the Power clean with the drop

  • @shmkrchyk That first dude was a DB and squatted 620!!! theyre doin somethin right and theyre putting the bar in a lower spot

  • @rankinnwc My theory is that it takes more power/strength/explosion to pull the weight higher up and catch it in the semi-standing position. With an olympic style clean you can catch the weight at a much lower height. Also, you're not training for the olympics, you're just trying to build explosive power and strength, so trying to teach an entire team of guys perfect olympic form, whilst trying to do everything else seems unnecessary. If you can musclefuck a 300+ pound clean, thats strength.

  • I played college ball in the late 80's and early 90's and for the life of me I can't see how these pseudo "power cleans" are better than the full Olympic style cleans

    When does your ass touch the floor in football? You gain nothing from going ATG in football Training. Box squats are the most beneficial for this sport.

  • I mean I don't considerate being a full squat till parallel to the floor. Drop about 200-300 pounds and I bet you could do that but otherwise those are some terrible squats.

  • you guys know nothing about training... most schools or any sports team doesn't have athletes do full or max out because it prolongs recovery during the season
