What gauge of nichrome
wire do you suggest using?

Can't remember exactly what gauge I used (80 seems to sound familiar?) I bought it off ebay a long time ago and the description suggested use as a hot wire.
It's the same stuff that florists use

Wow! You are fast!!!!! :D :D :D steel guitar string works fine for this. use the second(or third) to the thinnest one(not a guitar player...don't know the name of the string) and hook it to 12V DC car batt charger.

The second from bottom E is the B string, and the third one up is the G string.
Thanks for the tip, will try find some old guitar strings and try this.

Yes ni-chrome wire bought of ebay, though you can get it from florist shops or pull apart some old toasters and recycle the wire within.
