It's a movie, and thier just testing it out. they can shoot splater where ever they want. again it's a movie.

Cool idea. I think it'd look neat if you squibbed the newspaper, and hit the blood spray and blew the squib at the same time to make it look like he was shot right through the newspaper while he was reading it. I don't think I've ever seen that in a film before.

Mr 1138's quite right. Entry wounds don't make a huge spray like that. How could they, all the force is going the other way. You'd get bleeding AFTER the shot but the real mess would come out the back.
