HOW TO GROW GARLIC THAT MAKES PEOPLE SAY WOW !
For 8 years I've been replanting the largest cloves to try to get bigger and bigger garlic. It's working ! Loads of fish compost is also the key.

  • Hi, To get larger heads of garlic you have to cut off the flower heads so as it puts all the energy into making the bulb bigger :) that is the solution :)

  • @XaViEr3520 In other soils, yes I agree. I've been letting the flowers grow full size and dry for ornamental enjoyment for 12 years. This past year 2011 I cut all the flowers off and the garlic cloves were 10% to 0% larger so I'll be letting the flowers grow from now on. The cloves are giant with or without cutting the flower off in the soil I've made with my home made fish compost. Please see some of my other videos for soil secrets by clicking on my name. Thank you.

  • Plant your cloves 2" down in soil with lots of added compost in October November. Full sun well watered. They will pop up part way and then sleep under the snow. In the spring they will shoot up like gang busters. When the leaves turn brown in July harvent them and rinse off the soil with a hose nozzle and sun dry. I leave them fully exposed to the air on trays summer into fall and I replant only the largest cloves and eat the others. I leave and eat the rest stored on the trays winter+ spring.
