Wow, what a difference that capacitor makes!

could you use a microwave capacitor? or two in series? would that work?

Just imagine thrusting a supercapacitor up the anus during a hardcore buttfucking gay nigger sex orgy. I becha a spike of electricity could thrust the butthole into an orgasm!

wow, that's a really beautiful flyback!

xcellent !!

Great arcs man. You are so lucky to have such a great flyback! In the past 3-6 days (my memory seems to be shot) i have killed at least 10 flybacks. 2 were homemade with 28 gauge wire and the wire melted! Running the zvs with perhaps too much? I have run the ZVS with 52 volts and it didn't melt down or anything, and i have had a very hv flyback arc straight to the mosfet drain and it didn't die! So the flybacks are the only thing that die, the ZVS is good. Suggestions?
Just how do you make a resonant flyback? Find out the resonating frequency of the flyback with the oscilloscope and then input that exact frequency? Nice arcs btw (:

@zker666 This was with a resonant cap in parallel to the secondary winding, the cap was ~50pf and driver tuned to resonance. You need to put a safety gap on the output if you do this, otherwise something breaks down from the resonant rise...

you get dam much out of your flybacks :P

yeah, but this was just a test, the transformer didn't even get warm. However I have some other things to do now so I won't experiment with big arcs for a while.

Hi congratulations on an inspiring enjoyable video!!
I have been studying in slow motion to attempt to figure out the capacitor configuration in the circuit lol!
Does the cap chain connect to the Flyback emitter side before spark gap,and would three 30 kv caps at 1uf in series or three 12kv caps at 1nf suffice?
Should I reffer to Tesla calculation for help?
Ill understand if you dont wish to respond. You had to work it out yourself.
I guess thats half the fun!!

It is in parallel with the HV output, capacitance is 50pF (0.05nF). I'll be also trying to connect it in series with the output, as this is how the resonant MOT arcs are done, but I'm not sure if it won't be destructive...
