Hmm I hate that people do not give the vocals a chance. Fuck if he can sing, that's evidently not the point. He sounds amazing.

"Dead kids don't get photographed.
God Bless Our Dead Marines"
Best verse ever!

I honestly don't think he is a particularly great singer, but within the context of A Silver Mt. Zion, it's pretty trivial and personally irrelevant. There is an honesty and sincerity about his singing that transcends the technicality of it, and most importantly it somehow manages to affect me in an incredibly meaningful and personal way, which is something pretty damn difficult to do these days.

@gatersy He can't sing? Wow, then I must be wrong cause I love how he sings. I agree with you, people just think that everything must sound the same, look the same... and the list goes on. This is beautiful though, if this is "bad" singing then I adore bad singing.

Some of the greatest lyrics ever written. truly.
"As she dreams sweet puppy dreams, whimpering, gently."

If tears nearly to my eyes while listening to this now, I don't know how I'll react if they play this on Wednesday.

So unique.

Yes, i saw that during the performance...
I don't know if it's a lighter, but it makes a really big noise. It do the same as a charleston in drums, but without a drumstick...He just hold something and press it in the hand...
I can't tell you if it's useful, but at least it's different...
