RC plane versus large raptor at the SWMAC

Just another day's idiocy with RC planes at the SWMAC.

The weather is still nothing like summer ought to be but that doesn't stop us having a little fun with our RC planes. What a shame we couldn't find the hangar-cat today.

Is the Turnigy 9x Transmitter good? Because I want to buy one.

@MarcChep They are not the best radio on the market but they are the best value. A comparable 8 channel radio will cost 3-4 times as much as the Turnigy 9X. I will be doing a full review on my RCModelReviews website and YouTube channel very soon.

I feel like trying to ram eagles with RC planes may be against some sort of hunting law.

@ostidetabarnak Its to my understanding that your antenna should be at a most perpendicalur position to the reciever, but i dont quite understand why that is. Ive been told to never leave it at a straight out angle, but it doesnt seem to change anything as far as control function or range, maybe im guilty of dumb luck! haha

Hey Bruce, Have you had a look at the petrol engines on the Hobbyking website Eg the Turnigy 30cc to see if they are any good for value? cheers.

@MarcChep I can second that what Mr xjet wrote. I've got two T9X transmitters in a buddy box system and all you need is stereo audio jack male to male cable to bring my family and friends into the hobby. They are not the best on the market but is worth more than what you get for. Only one down side is that you really do need a separate fail safe unit on your plane or heli, or you have to replace the module and rx with one that will fail safe described in xjet's videos
