The subject of legendary documentarian Frederick Wiseman's hypnotic new film is an Austin, TX institution: Lord's Gym, which was founded 16 years ago by professional boxer Richard Lord. People of all ages, races, ethnicities and social classes come to Lord's: doctors, lawyers, judges, businessmen and kids all learn to spar alongside fellow amateurs and trained professionals. Wiseman depicts the gym as a uniquely American melting pot, a place where people meet to talk and train, and shows us that all the world's a ring.

I have personally know Richard for almost 15 years and for almost 15 years he has been an inspiration, a personal hero, a smart-ass, a guy who punches me whenever I go visit him, and a living legend to me. I don't even know what else to say, I've loved Richard and his gym since the day I met them both. True Story...

@SquareCirclesTV You don't own the copyright to a subject matter, there really is no point in pursuing this. The films are so different that even if Wiseman had seen your film he definitely didn't have it in mind when making his. Yours is made for a broad audience who need to be told how to relate to the images with narration and music, Wiseman allows the images to speak for themselves, which in my opinion is far more effective.

After watching this trailer, I don't want to watch this movie. I want to go to my boxing gym and train :P.
Just kidding, I want to see this movie. Then I'm gonna train. And from what I can tell, this owner genuinely cares about his craft, and the people that train at his gym.

@boxwhead Again Mr. Wiseman deserves all the praise and credit in the world for his contribution to Documentary Film Making...we would never question his genius as it relates to his talents...what we question is his motivation for his film. The lawyers will work it out...let us agree to disagree on this one.
