  • Shalom Akhot...I don't know if you eat fried foods, but as a snack you could maybe use the remaining sauce for cheesesticks. Was there a reason that you sliced the eggplant in thick slices? Would it have not been better to slice it thinner to maybe have a slightly larger serving?

  • @NewMamaOnTheBlock Shalom, I usually dont eat fried foods cause they dont agree with me. But I wonder now that you mentioned it if I could make a baked version of a cheese stick. Or I could just make eggplant sticks. that might taste good. I didnt have any sauce left over. The recipe made a full pan. I didnt think about the thickness of the slices. I just made it. I am sure if you sliced it thin it would come out great as well.

  • I have just tried this for dinner. Only difference I fried the aubergines in olive oil with shallots and seasalt and pepper before hand. It went down a treat at my house:-) Definately great to add to my vegetarian arsenal. I will make some for Sabbath lunch next time. With all my thanx from the UK

  • @mizaj4christ That sounds delicious. My 7yr old loves shallots. She calls them the sweet onions. I might give thta a try.

  • @Maybehapsso No I have only used the short fat eggplants. I wonder what flavor the other ones have.

  • @lisajames96 I messed up some eggplant a few years back as well. What I have found is the bitter taste is cut down when you take off most of the skin. And you have to cook it till tender. Cause if its undercooked in anyway its bitter. It just doesnt taste good raw.

  • Shalom and.........do you make house calls....lol, yummy yummy, have you used the thin italian ones for your recipie
