Day 3: Arguably the UK's most prestigious rail tour, the 'Great Britain' returned with a vengeance for the third time over the Easter holiday time in April 2010, once again running from London to the south west, then up to the highlands of Scotland and back to London, using a variety of Steam Locomotives and Heritage Diesels.

Todays video shows day 3 of the tour, running from Bristol Temple Meads to Preston, using a pair of steam locomotives that brought the curtain for British mainline steam back on 11th august 1968, Ian Rileys newly restored LMS Black Five No.44871 and the National Railway Museum's BR Standard 'Britannia' class 7MT No.70013 'Oliver Cromwell', these 2 locomotives were used in the 15 Guinea Special, the final passenger workings undertaken by British railways using steam locomotives. here the pair are seen passing through Warrington bank Quay station, very, very late after problems at the water stop at Crewe, however the pair pass through whistling along the way, going at some speed, so much my photo of them passing blurred! so no picture to open with today.

Hope you enjoy, Im also seeing this tour on the 14/4/10 at Both York and Doncaster, of which a separate video will be uploaded afterwards
