Can we stop all the bickering about language and just enjoy the piece, plz?
-
it's actually movement 7
-
@MrSmartiebaker Well, that's right but wrong. Yes, Cantata 147 is called Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben, but movement 10 is Jesus bleibet meine Freude
-
¡La partitura no se ve un carajo!
-
@Orionman8 but it's commonly known by its' English title. One of many great German composers.

Orionman, by "name", you mean, the title of the song? Yes, the German title is JESU BLEIBET MEINE FREUDE. Howver, its English RENDITION (not translation) is JESU JOY OF MAN'S DESIRING. I believe, that's a correct rendition because the German lyrics itself has something to do with man's desire to have joy in his God.

@MrSmartiebaker Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben (BWV 147) is a cantata written by Bach. Jesu bliebet meine Freude is merely the 10th movement, although it is the most well known.
-
@Orionman8 It does not necessarily have to have the title 'Jesu bleibet meine Freude' if it is the english translation sung by a chorus, or is the arrangement by Ian Bailey-Mortimer or Myra Hess.
