Seems like you miss the point of this concept? Why tow a trailer full of gear - Tent etc when the trailer can become a tent - Yeah Im going on a caravan holiday but im staying in a hotel?

more like you miss the point, only IF this would already be this small when fold in, it would (when fold out) still be smaller then a tent which you could easely put in a backpack...

next to that there is NO fucking way that there would fit a sleeping mat or even just already a sleeping bag in there... so you would still have to bring a backpack anyway. and such a small thing can NEVER be comforteble, now think about that!

They actually built two working models of this thing. Google it. Just type in 'fiets caravan". That's pretty cool, although, as other stated here, I doubt it will ever come to fruition. If I were to actually build one, I'd make the bottom area storage, accessible by a door to th rear and side, and, based off rough calculations, it would have approximately 25 to 40 sq. ft. of storage space.

@4L3X4ND3R5, lot of concepts like these never get past the drawing board. Think it shouldn't be that difficult to make your own else just buy a KampRite Tent Cot and bung it on top a bicycle trailer.
