Okay, let me, the1koolkitty, add my own two cents here: I normally don't try to post political messages up, but I just cannot see this as anything political considering that ANYONE who uses the Internet should be up in arms about this. The supporters of PIPA and SOPA in Congress right now have even admitted not knowing how the Internet works (don't believe me? Watch Jon Stewart's talk about SOPA http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-january-18-2012/ko-computer ), and yet they're trying to police "copyrighted materials" in entirely the wrong way. If they want to stop people stealing videos and music, punish the websites that allow for illegal downloads or websites that allow you to download videos from Youtube-- Youtube itself is not the problem for sharing this material with people who otherwise wouldn't know of it. I wouldn't know HALF of the stuff I know if not for websites like Youtube, Wikipedia, and Google -- I wouldn't have bought half the music and films that I have if not for Youtube, and I know Youtube would be one of the first sites to get persecuted if this legislation goes through. I also think we must look at the bigger picture also -- if the government gives ANYONE, corporations or otherwise, the ability to censor the Internet, even if it is supposedly to protect their profits, then the door will be opened to censoring other things on the Internet. We could move from censoring "copyrighted videos" to "copyrighted materials" in general (goodbye fanfiction!) to the spread of any materials you have no ownership of (goodbye Wikipedia and online books!). Even just someone speaking out against a corporation could be seen as "cutting into their profits" and be blacked out. It could turn into a scarily slippery slope, and we have to band together and stop us from approaching it. There are better ways of protecting artists' and corporate profits than by throwing the baby out with the bath water. Post this on your channel too, get the word out, and PROTEST SOPA AND PIPA.
