Basil; - For many decades the Salvation Army Red Band Tune Books provided all the music for Army Worship. - In 1987 the Blue Band Tune Books were introduced. - It would be impossible to purchase Red Tune Books today, unless as a collectors item I would have thought. The Red Tune Books contained a good selection of 'oldies', and this is where the tunes on this video originate from.

Hi Basil; - As you will have gathered these are very old Tunes associated with the early days of the Salvation Army. - The first is called COVENANT. (Words: There is a Fountain filled with blood drawn from Immuel's veins;) - The second is called CHALVEY (Words: Revive Thy work, o Lord). - The third ( Wo'll Be the Next To Follow Jesus). - The last a real Army benediction (Give to Jesus Glory). - Hope this helps. Hello Elephant 1947. - On a positive side, I am reliably informed Birmingham Citadel Corps in the City Centre is packed to capacity each Sunday, you need to arrive early to be sure of a seat. - Although it's a reasonably modern building, they have recently had to extend the building again. Good News!

Sadly. Hockley as a Corps has been closed for quite some time now. - The last I heard the Army was using the building as a Community Furniture Store. At the time there were at least 10 Corps in Birmingham. On the last reckoning I hear it's now 3. I am sure someone will put us right
