2008 Subaru Impreza and WRX Front Sway Bar installation. Vehicle shown is 2008 WRX. Instal is similar on all 2008 Impreza, WRX, STi, and 2005-2008 Legacy GT and XT.
its a torsion bar/spring. if the left wheel its a bump the sway bar pivots and also pushes up on the right wheel. The stiffer the sway bar the less the bar twists, so the force from hitting the bump is applied more evenly to both wheels. This also means less lateral roll/body roll, and more overstear if the rear bar is replaced with a stiffer one.

helps minimize body roll by transfering weight
