What Is The Best Digital Cameras Brand?

Ask a dozen photographers what the best camera is, and your likely to get a dozen answers. Ask those same photographers, what the best brand is, and your likely to start a brawl. It seems to be a controversial question amongst the camera crowd, but if you take a look at a few simple statistics, the answer becomes a little clearer.

As I peruse my favorite best selling cameras list for today, this is what I see:
1. Canon PowerShot SD1100IS
2. Flip Video MinoHD Camcorder
3. Canon PowerShot SD880IS
4. Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder
5. Canon PowerShot A590IS
6. Canon PowerShot SD890IS
7. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28K
8. Flip Ultra Series Camcorder
9. Canon PowerShot SD770IS
10. Canon Digital Rebel XSi

There is definitely a bit of a trend here. Six out of the top ten selling digital cameras are manufactured by Canon. Where's Nikon? Where's Sony? Where's Fuji? Where's Olympus? Oh, they do make sales . . . obviously. They just don't seem to do as well as Canon.

A study recently showed, that about half of the cameras on different "Top Digital Camera" lists were made by Canon. The other 50% were usually a mix of Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Olympus, Pentax, and other assorted brands.

Top sales, and top critical acclaim, seem to be part of Canons rather cunning modus operandi. Find out more interesting camera facts at:
