Tour of my apartment in Bangbae, Seoul, South Korea. I'm a teacher at a private English school in wealthy residential neighborhood. My employer provides my apartment.

  • It's true, the apartment is small, but most Korean schools aren't going to outfit teachers with only a year long contract with a fancy apartment. Plus, many teachers live in very expensive parts of town. I am happy with what I have. Another note, English teachers aren't poor. Most of them make about the same average monthly wage as Korean workers, $1924 USD/month.

  • You should MacGyver yourself a shower curtain so the water doesn't go everywhere, at least that's what I would do. ;)

  • @detergent99 At first I thought it was weird that most Korean bathrooms don't have separate tubs with shower curtains, but now I actually don't mind it. It's easy to clean at least!

  • Was that a bug in your fridge?!?? That's horrific!!

  • @EscapeNewJersey I disagree. I've been watching many videos of Korean apartments and a lot of them are much nicer than anything I've seen in the U.S.

  • want to go back to south korea soon. loved it when i first went

  • After visiting Korea, then coming home to the US, we felt as if we lived in a palace. In some ways, the Korean ideal seems so modest. But there's so little waste going on over there.

I absolutely loved the heated floors. Though lying on a hardwood floor without padding, I could sleep forever! Nice post!
