A few miles thick?!?
Saturn's rings are around 10m thick in most places. There are bodies around the size of buildings, but not very many, they get torn up by Saturn's gravity. And finally they are made almost solely of Ice.

Saturn's rings are only a few miles thick and are amde of rocks that rang from the size of dust to a VERY larg building.
