I have painted many cars with a wagner gun, with very good results. If you are going to paint metallics just mix it well. I have always used the 1 qt jug that came with the gun to mix and spray. Just do some practice shots on something to get the feel of the gun. I always use enamel with the enamel reducer. Don't be afraid to use the reducer. Looks orange peel a little when you are done. But as it dries the enamel reducer slows down the drying time and it just flows out like glass.
I tried it on an old yellow Chevy LUV pickup. It didn't work too bad actually, but the paint went on really thick and was the texture of an orange peel. It looked OK from a distance, and was kind of fun! The paint guy called it my Chevy LUV Bug, so that was kind of funny.
@deliveryguyrx Not a car, but a sea can shipping container. It worked okay, but the only way to keep it from running, was to paint a fairly heavy dust coat, and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, before the wet coat. Even then I still got a few runs.
It might work okay for solid colours, but I bet it wouldn't do metallics very well. (but I bet you guessed that part)

A pro painter told me this gun is slow as molasses and sprays
on REAL thin layers, so it takes forever on old wood.
Car paint wise, it is real thin once mixed, so it paints a lot fast.
but that was 10 years back.

Rats! I thought he was going to paint the Benz with the PowerPainter. Has anybody tried this on a car? A real (but stupid) question...
