@gustopheles Why would you assume that? I am not talking about the late Callas because why even go there? I was mainly referring to the beauty of tone which you must admit was never her forte. Even Callas herself didn´t like it. I try to give credit where it´s due. Callas was a force to be reckoned with, no question about it, and I LOVE her in some roles, not all. I try not to let my fanaticism for a diva taint my assessments on a singer. Can you say the same?

@CoreyLeig So you listened to a couple of the compilation discs Callas released in the 60s and think you can come up with a reasonable assessment.

This is beyond beautiful, the gods surely blessed her with an incredible voice on top of her physical beauty. Where can all the hate come from I wonder? Callas fans are particulary vicious and deranged. Not to take anything away from la Divina, but let´s face it, this beauty of tone Callas never possessed, and no one could in honesty deny the harsh or "squashed" sounds, nor the wobble on Callas´s very high notes. If Callas was alive, she´d be cheering Anna on. Anna haters, STFU.

I totally agree with you....if we talk about personal taste, everything is questionable, but it would be stupid and totally unfair to say that this woman does not have a wonderful gift in her voice.....furthermore, it's vain to make comparison with a singer like Maria Callas who is an Icona for the whole planet....
