@dawino6260 I used to have a 1965 305 SuperHawk, Wish I still had it now. Had many good times on that bike. Also had an early model Bridgestone 90, . I think we are giving away our age, lol !!!
@surrynet That's allright - your "old ways" are the reason I've got so many classic bikes over the years for next to nothing - i'm doing a 64 305 dream and a 72 Rickmann right now. and a very rare pre-EPA ban V-max (mfd Dec. 1984) that I've had sitting around since the 80's
@dawino6260 I stand corrected, guess I was just used to when my jap bikes got alot of miles I just got rid of them. I'll have to think different now. Guess I was just stuck in my old ways, LOL. Once again thanks for the info.
@surrynet My V92 is on its 3rd transmission in 12,000 miles - common for all the first year V92's though - the good Victories are from 02 up but avoid the Vision from 08 up (too much stuff to go wrong - the less that can go wrong the less that will go wrong)... I had an 8 ball for a while but I gave it to my daughters ex boyfriend - never had a lick of trouble out of that one other than the fuel injection went out at 14k miles
@surrynet - By the way - one of my goldwins also made it past 300k - with that kind of longevity I dont mind spending 500 bucks on a set of new cylinder sleeves vs. 400 bucks to have a set of jugs bored out - You CAN rebuild MOST (keyword = most) jap bikes as many times as you like - bit more money but thankfully you dont have to do it as often - I just re-did the victory V92 with a titanium trans and a bigger oil cooler - still overheats pulling my parts getter trailer same problem as my FLH
@surrynet That's an unfair statement -- Most folks dont know you can re-sleeve most jap bikes - including Goldwings - My Red CB900 made 315k and just recently got new JUGS, rebuilt head, cam.. etc -- That one you can rebuild as many times as you like - but say a vf700 has to be resleeved as does a VTR1000. CB750-1100 just pop on new jugs - my red cb900 just got punched to 10 over for the first time at 315k miles without buying new jugs first rebuild on that engine
why does that 929 sound like that? lol..i have owned several 929's over the years and none have sounded that horrible!
