The "hundreds of millions" number isn't backed up by any reputable science. It's an extrapolation of limited studies.

If you want to see the real killers of birds, look in the mirror. Humans are destroying habitat and poisoning the environment, leading to deaths and extinctions.

Hundreds of millions of cats are killed each year by cars.

Dominique Gusset should be kept indoors if s/he is a responsible Eco-Warrior.

Yes, if "Norman" is in fact a male, he's probably neutered to save the lives of millions of cats in the shelters. The cat doesn't mind it. They don't have ego and complexes. At shelters, they spay and neuter thousands of cats (and dogs and rabbits) to prevent pregnancy before adopting the animals out.

"Extrapolating from the data to include the millions of feral cats brutalizing native wildlife across the country, the American Bird Conservancy estimates that kitties are killing more than 4 billion animals annually. And that number's based on a conservative weekly kill rate, said Robert Johns, a spokesman for the conservancy.

"We could be looking at 10, 15, 20 billion wildlife killed (per year)," Johns said."
