@Jontman07 Of course it was daring in those days. You had to be alive in the late 1970s to realize now how constrained we were then. When Andy was working on things like this, the word 'pregnant' had been allowed on the air for less than a decade. If a TV character uttered the word "Damn!" people still cringed. Kaufman was so far ahead of his time that no one, and I mean no one, knew what to make of him. It was like Marty McFly going back to 1955.

I get what he's trying to do. It's just not really funny. I mean, I know he's trying to evoke emotions in people, and that's what we're laughing at, the people watching rather than Andy. However.. It's just not daring enough. Maybe it was daring in those days.
