  • @mrennie25 The MRO team is going to attempt to image MSL as the did with Phoenix. They'd love to image the skycrane maneuver but that will be very hard to do.

  • The solar panels power the cruise stage components that get the MSL to Mars. That's like all the computers, sensors, and thrusters involved in this and future course correction maneuvers. The RTG is attached to the rover and powers only the rover.
