@jonboyxl Actually no, Palpatine could EASILY dispatch Windu, but h lt Windu subdue him so that Anakin would walk in on what seemed like an assasination attempt. Read the book.

@mitzack It's not ven jealousy that Qui-Gon is showing Anakin more attention, it's the fact that Obi-Wan didn't completely inherit Qui-Gon's streak of going against the Council, and he knew Anakin shouldn't become a Jedi. Also, he wanted Qui-Gon to be on the Council, because he knew he had the potential.

Sorry man, but I can't agree. Obi Wan wasn't jealous at all of Anakin. It's not his Character. He is a leader and a mentor and wanted to protect Anakin. Now yes, in the first one he is jealous that Qui Gon is showing more attention to Anakin then himself..but not jealous at all of Anakin's abilities or power.
