Nearing the end of the 1st, it looked bad for the Devils. Already down 1-0 and on the PK. But Brian Rafalski is able to chip an Avalanche dump in up the boards, past two Avalanche and out of the zone and Bob Corkum races after the loose puck and gets there. Corkum them is able to keep going through the hook of Martin Skoula to put the puck under Patrick Roy to give the Devils their first goal of the 2001 Finals, and tie the game 1-1!

  • Devils still shoulda won this series I will never forget it.

  • If it was his high school coach, it was a hard-ass guy named O'Connell - he was a tough coach!

  • And now Skoula plays for NJ... yay.

  • this is my friends dad hes still sick at hockey.

  • I remember there was an article in the star ledger the next day about corkum, and how his high school or college coach or whoever called him up afterwards and still gave him a hard time for doing something wrong later on in the game, haha. anyway, pointless story

  • CORKUM!!!
