Terje Rypdal about his 8-string Fender + "The Prayer" -theme and more from "Hip som happ", Molde 1991. "The Prayer" has been used in performances of "Hip som happ" and "Deja Vu" (in Grenoble), and is recorded on the ECM CD "Q.E.D."(4th movement). "The Prayer" can also be heard with strings only, in the music score for "Kjærlighetens kjøtere" ("Zero Kelvin"). With orchestra conducted by Christian Eggen, The Chasers feat. Bugge Wesseltoft on keys. What he says (in norwegian) is: The guitar has two extra bass strings, so the range is expanded with an octave. He loves to make the "Twin Peaks" sound....Legend says Fender made it for free when they heard it was for Rypdal. This TV-documentary was aired on TVNorge, and made by Frode Rabbevåg.

That is true. Fender asked who the buyer is, and when they heard it was for Terje Rypdal,they gave it away for free.. A regular costum shop guitar will cost 4000 - 10000 $, for this guitar it was much more... Jeff Beck is one of Terje Rypdal's fan..
