Watch In HD If Possible. 'Organised Chaos' Clip #1 - Please note: Clips #2, #3 and #4 have been uploaded to show the continuing progress of the build.
This is the first look at my latest effort. It's about a third of the way there. Still lots of elements and track to add - and adjustments to be made - but I'm having a lot of fun. To anyone who is thinking of making a rolling ball sculpture which has all the tracks etc painted in different colours, realise that you are giving yourself a lot of extra work because of the touching up that is required after each new section is welded into place. Personally, I think the additional work is well worth it because the extra colours add to the visual pleasure.
By the way, this is a manually operated machine and the only method I could think of to power it for this video was to attach a rope loop around the handle shaft and stand to one side and pull the handle around with the rope so it's a bit jerky for which I apologise.
