Adam - Theatrical trailer
Hugh Dancy (CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC) stars as Adam, a handsome but intriguing young man with Asperger's Syndrome, who has all his life led a sheltered existence - until he meets his new neighbor, Beth (Rose Byrne, Damages, 28 WEEKS LATER, KNOWING), a beautiful, cosmopolitan young woman who pulls him into the outside world, with funny, touching and entirely unexpected results.
The film shares the theme of a common disorder with Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
Adam releases July 29 in the US this year. My Name Is Khan is slated to release worldwide in December this year.

  • I have aspersers syndrome. This guy seemed to like space, rockets, and NASA. I myself like animals, genetics, and evolution.

We Aspies? Were not dumb. We are "selectively intelligent" :P

  • Its cool that we have a name for everything nowadays. I remember when they just called people like this nerds.

  • @Dannan1989 I'm glad someone can think of those other than themself. I think most people just think those with AS are weirdos since you can't usually tell an Aspie from an NT just from looking at them.

  • @MelyssaAKASkittlez Some of us NTs really want to take the time to. I wont pretend I can understand someone with Aspergers, as I don't have it myself, but it doesnt mean I wont try and it doesnt mean I don't have time for people with AS - or even more severe forms of autism.

  • @MelyssaAKASkittlez I'm not mad. I'm just amazed that people stil insist on instigating on youtube. People like insulting everyone else and there's no point to it. Your last comment was likely intended to make me mad, but I'm not. And I'm fully expecting some condescending reply to this, saying that, "You're just trying to sound smart to cover up your anger," rather than something like, "Oh, you are right. I should have known you were joking/knew you were joking and wanted to get you riled up."

  • @MelyssaAKASkittlez y u mad

  • @Duffblue Duh! You clearly did not read the rest of my comment before making your own comment. I know it's hard to convey a sense of sarcasm through visual text, but, c'mon, did you think I was really serious about killing you? Who really asks permission to kill someone. That was your first clue that I was not serious. Second, I don't have that kind of time to spare; third, I never allow myself to get mad enough as to really want to kill someone. Jeez, people take comments too seriously.

  • @MelyssaAKASkittlez Well that would just be illegal, retard.

  • @ForeverAnalog That's actually been proven. Of course, it depends on what psychological definition of intelligence you are talking about. There are many types of intelligence, JUST in case you were not aware of that fact. I could school you on them, but you don't like people like me. So I won't bother you anymore and I'll just go work on my literary review for my biological principles II class.

  • @Duffblue "People with Aspergers should kill themselves" you say? Can I kill you instead? Since I have certain emotions that I don't feel as strongly as others, I would not feel bad about you dying. Hell, it might even make me laugh!...Okay, that is what I would say if I were not as mature as I am. But you can go on in your ignornace and I will go on in my merry life with my friends and hobbies and straight A's.

  • @codessatexas I sure hope that was a joke you made. There is a HUGE difference between an aspie and a "nerd."

  • I also have Asperger's syndrome, and I thought this portrayal was pretty spot-on. It (AS) affects all Aspies differently and to different degrees, but the demonstration of Adam's symptoms were pretty classic. Neurotypicals just don't understand us and most don't want to take the time to. That's something I saw a lot of in this movie outside of the main female lead.
