I agree with others...nice bird but it's a pileated. It lacks the large white patch on the back that an ivory billed has. Still, pileateds are skittish and don't usually stick around people long at all.
@HILDING54 Yeah, b/c the Ivory-billed has a biege or light colored beak ivory colored. And NO one has ever seen it or filmed it to this day. I just got threw raising a yellow bellied sapsucker ( a type of woodpecker, a male) and if I ever come across an ivory bill woodpecker, I'll be on the horn telling the world & give it to fish & wildlife in a heartbeat.
Yep, that's a pileated woodpecker and a northern mockingbird. I doubt the mockingbird is concerned that the woodpecker is eating its lunch. Mockingbirds are very territorial, especially when nesting, and he's probably just keeping an eye on it.

What is it that made you believe this was an ivory bill?

@silverbulletgirl29 The ivory bill was filmed in the 40's. There are also stuffed specimens to be seen.

That is neither an Ivory bill or a Blue Jay. That's a Pileated and a Northern Mockingbird.

Weird title, since the woodpecker is a Pileated, not an Ivory-billed.
