  • Too bad we cant get these in the States any more. Great trucks.

  • @HMCS1997 "Helps on narrow roads."

Pehaps, being from the US, you don't realise exactly how narrow our roads can be, we have some villages where it's so narrow cars have to go single file with no pedestrian sidewalk of any sort, villages which have been there over 400 years.

Hummers are pretty awesome off road but the Defender is just alot more practical in Europe.

The Hummer is nice but you just don't get Sahara expeditions using them, they either use Land Rovers or Land Cruisers.

  • @G1NZOU The Humer is trash. Lol, I have '95 Range Rover and it's Way more comfortable and off road capable than a hummer.

  • @THEganjamatt ye thats why the british army uses there land rovers to pull the yanks Humvees out of the boggy tracks when they get stuck in the tought terrain in Afghan, watch?v=a83mX3PRZPk&feature=related

  • @G1NZOU I do drive one.

  • @HMCS1997 Don't worry, not trying to take any glory from the Hummer, I'm sure both of us would rather drive either vehicle than an Audi Q7 or a BMW X3.

  • @G1NZOU Don't worry,I do realize how narrow European roads can be. I wasn't trying to make Hummer as practical in Europe as Defender either.

The point was the cost. That relates to Sahara expeditions just as well.

Having been used by 50+ Armed Forces around the globe - it'll take on Sahara...

Having driven D90 , all I can say - the steering radius of a Hummer is something every Defender driver would love to have.

  • @G1NZOU If I read you correctly the only reason you don't see a single H1 because it's too big. So the price and fact that very few of them made (especially exported) is irrelevant?

Not to mention that width is argumentative. While being wider, H1 has by far superior steering radius (helps on those narrow roads).

  • @THEganjamatt Apart from in the Hummer most people on the street will think you're a dick wheras the Defender is more humble, at worst they'll think you're a farmer.

I would say the Defender is more practical because it's slimmer, very important if you're going to somewhere like snowdonia where most of the roads are really narrow and parking is difficult, I see loads of Defenders but not a single Hummer.

  • when they put a toyota badge on it then you can make that claim

  • Too bad the Hummer H1 Kicks it's ass. =[

I'm a brit but the Hummer pwns that Land rover.
