The Face at the Window is a British horror film/period piece directed by George King and starring the aptly named Tod Slaughter (paradoxically enough his last name is real, not his first). The film centers around the wealthy Chevalier Lucio del Gardo (Slaughter) who is blackmailing a bank manager to let him marry his daughter, all while a murderer known as The Face is wreaking havoc in 1880's France.
great stuff Slaughter is a LEGEND

I found out about this movie from a Christopher Lee hosted documentary called "100 Years Of Horror" that i like to watch from time to time. There's a lot on on that disc that even the most educated horror fan would be entertained watching it.
